Hello,

This is my first post and i am just looking for advice in tanking for a protection paladain.

I just got my 80 and started doing heriocs but seem to take loads of damage of every mob less often on single big targets e.g. bosses.

Could anyone give me tips on what i should do or is my gear just bad.

Hey Tornado,

Your gear dosnt look terible but I would probably say you are not quite at heroic level yet. You are missing alot of enchants, a gem or two and your still below the Heroic Def cap.

Run a few of the harder Norm mod instances, try and get the trinket from HoL and helm from Oculus. Then get back in and start slowly. Nexxus and UK first. Get them down pat before moving on. VH is easy but a mistake in there means a complete rerun off the instance.

Heroics are difficult when first starting out but will get much easier as you start getting drop/emblem loot.

Keep At it.

Also make sure to check positioning. Trash can be a real pain with ranged or caster targets or groups of large sized mobs as it can be a challenge to keep them all in front of you to utilize all of your avoidance. Especially with all the trickier ones who like to root you and run off or vanish and appear behind you.
