Single-player games

Been playing WoW for a year now, my first serious foray into gaming since Wizardry (impressed if any of you remember that one :o). Due to RL issues I may have to seriously scale back my WoW time, which means no raid tanking, which is the only enjoyable aspect of the game for me right now. So I am considering a single-player game to satisfy my gaming fix, while giving me the flexibility to play when I can - which of course is lacking in a WoW raiding guild.

Any suggestions for a PC (well, Mac :D) single player fantasy game? Something like Fable, without having to plunk down the cash for an Xbox?

Neverwinter Nights or something might be able to hold your interest. Arcanum was another good game though both are fairly old games now.
