So with the great news from Blizz that we can now have 2 specs that we can quickly switch in and out of I was wondering...

What are the lvl 70 specs going around for tanking and dps after 3.0 comes out on tuesday? I've got a good idea of what I want to do with prot but as for dps i'm not sure if arms or fury is the way to go (or some hybrid thereof). Is there a thread I should look at or does anyone have thier specs already planned out?

Any and all help is appriciated!

I was actually considering taking yet another prot spec with more of a focus on dps - grab impale, and maybe even some prot pvp talents. This would be useful for clearing trash, and maybe even farming.

There was a post elsewhere that offered some suggestions for a secondary dps spec (possibly by ciderhelm), and he seemed to think that arms would be the best choice if you're primarily tanking, and dpsing occasionally. I guess the rationale behind this is that you don't have to spend tons of dkp maintaining a set of two handed weapons (expensive), and you also provide some nice utility.

Here is what I've come up with looking at various ones on the site. What do you guys think?

Prot:

DPS Arms:

I know very little about Arms so I won't comment on that. All I would say on your prot build is that its probably not worth maxing out Shield Spec particularly. Point for point, maxing Deflection gives you more mitigation, if that's what you're after.

How come no 5 points in cruelty for Prot spec?
