View Full Version : Supremus - Charging across the map

We have been killing Supremus for the past few weeks but it has never been a clean kill. Last night was literally a death just as the enrage timer went off. Most people are good about staying out of the fires and avoiding the volcanoes. The main issue is the phase change back from phase 2 to phase 1 and having the tanks pick him up.

Our strategy we have been using goes like this. Tank and spank in the first phase. Scatter to the left and right side 5-10 seconds before phase 2. The tanks follow him through out phase 2 as he chases people. Tanks try and pick him up with misdirects at the change back over to phase 1.

The main problem is when he decides to target some one on the opposite side of the field. He will turn and charge until he gets into his walk range. This will leave the tanks far behind and unable to pick him up even with charges, intervenes, or intercepts. This means he will go and smack a healer or a DPS or three going usually even farther away from the tanks. Eventually one of the tanks gets in range and picks him up.

Last night we switched to a zone based coverage for that tanks that worked better. The tanks took an area to cover and had to follow the boss only when he was in their area. When one picked him up after the phase change the rest ran in. But I think that we are just missing something that would make this a lot easier on the tanks. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Tell people to not run TOO far and you solve it.

Anyway, if you got that issue, just tell hunters to MD. Save your misdirects for those issues, picking him up usually is extremely simple (even more if you happen to have a prot paladin)

as worldie mentioned: don't let your people run TOO far away. and let your huntards save their MD-CD for the phase-switch (let them rotate from phase to phase should make it really safe).
your tactic of a zone-based-coverage sounds good, anyways. if this works: go for it.

when he fixates on the next to last person of that phase (~20seconds left), have your ranged, healers move closer to supremus if they're over 40 yards away, this will eliminate the charge across the map.
