Anybody here tanking on Ubuntu? Windows is getting on my last damn nerve and I want to make the switch. The only app I use regularly that I'm not sure Ubuntu will handle well is WoW. I found a link to assist with setup, and it doesn't seem too bad:

But I have to wonder how the extra overhead needed by Wine will affect performance. Anyone got any experience with it, good or bad?

Edit: One night of attempts has not ended well. Damn you Cedega. Could this be the end of my tanking career? Damnable Linux. :(

tried it with wine with different results, it runs normaly or it doesn't run at all or will crash the system, i think it depends strongly on your settings, particular on your graphic settings. But if you try to run it, run it with opengl
"wine WoW.exe -opengl"
might give more input when i boot my ubuntu next time.

If you're not using a whole lot of programs/games then Ubuntu can be a decent alternative, but I have to wonder why you didn't ask for help with your Windows problem first? (At least not here!)
