View Full Version : Threat Gear Suggestions

I am looking for any suggestions that you may have regarding my threat set (http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Sentinels&n=Gehn).

This is also my usual setup when I am MT. The only change I make is substituting the Commendation of Kael'Thelas for the Gnomeregan Auto-Blocker.

With a Hit Rating at 104 (6.6%), Expertise at 40 (10%), and Block Value at 418, I believe that I am doing well for the content we have been hitting.

But I need to know if any suggestions can be made. Perhaps my hit is kinda high, or BV low. Perhaps I dont need all of that expertise and should substitute more EH or Avoidance items. Anything constructive to let me think about this weekend would be appreciated.

As a guild, we regularly complete the following each week:

We have killed the following, but are not regular targets as of now:

Lurker (3 times, no mallet)
Leotheras (once)
Solarian (once)

We have suspended all guild sponsored 10 mans to focus on 25 man content at the moment. But that does not mean that ZA is not a possibility on off-nights.

Thanks in advance.

You could get a higher dps weapon and add executioner to it.

You could get a ZG enchant for your hat (that's pretty hard).

A little more hit would help on bosses (Kara sword?).

On trash you can drop some expertise and add in more block value (I'm thinking of your blue ring in particular since it's not that great without that expertise).

Use a adamantite sharpening stone if you're not getting windfury.

King's Defender w/ executioner
Bonefists with 2% threat
Shard of contempt if you don't have it already (not in armory atm, it's better than GAB)

Everyone says that, before the hard caps on expertise and hit, they are above other stats for threat gen including shield block value, per point of itemization.

If you don't have those items, and you dont in the armory snapshot I see, then they will take you to just about the caps for bosses which is what matters amiright?

This is my new threat set, except the KD does have executioner, the bracers are stammed and the gloves have threat on them, it just hasnt registered yet.

Why are you gearing more for threat? Starting SSC and TK, your DPSers are likely doing 1200 DPS at the extreme most. Chances are it is a Warlock. So they are doing about 550 TPS.

Are there any situations where you can't hold aggro over said Warlocks? If so, the problem is your playing style, not your gear.
