Sheild Comparison, Amani Bulwark

So i got Bulwark of the Amani Empire in tonights za, Bulwark of the Amani Empire - Thottbot: World of Warcraft (http://thottbot.com/i33326), it was the first time my guild managed to down the entire instance.

nonetheless i was using Dawnforge Defender, Dawnforged Defender - Thottbot: World of Warcraft (http://thottbot.com/i34676).

I'm MT for my guild, will be progressing with them once we get out dps and healers of quality for t5, i was thinking Bulwark was more of a threat sheild, and dawnforge a little beffer for bosses due to dodge. Using Bulwark i gain 300ish hp, putting me at 16.7k unbuffed.

Ive found ive been increasingly gearing my warrior for threat, as my sheild block value seems abnormally high for my progression(as in, Ive never stepped foot into a t5 raid), and i have 38 expertise with shard of contempt. (im working on getting the vengeance card for the +51 stam, but expertise will still stay high).

But back to my main question, which sheild is generally superior, and does the "lesser" sheild have a situation in which it would be better to use.

I use the Bulwark for all my tanking sets and only use the dawnforge with a shield spike for when I have to deal with a heap of adds (before the 2nd boss in mgt). I only got the dawnforge because its the same as nightbanes shield but had +hit on it.

The Amani shield is better in virtually every way. It has higher armor, higher stam (so more Effective Health), it has more threat stats (*much* higher BV outweights the hit rating). It even has a socket!

The only thing it doesn't have is the avoidance on the Dawnforged, but if you toss a dodge gem in there for the socket bonus, you're even closer, and you get some free stam (I'm not saying that you *should* put a dodge gem in the Amani shield, but it shows the strength of the shield and the socket).

Amani is way better than DFD

I have both shields. Initially, I tried using DFD for avoidance fights, but found that the sheer amount of armor on the Amani reduces the damage I take by several hundred points per hit, totally outweighing the bit of extra dodge DFD gives.

I second (third?) what has been said - avoidance fight or threat fight, Amani wins hands down.

I replaced my Defender completely when I got the Amani Bulwark yesterday. I still have it but I don't know exactly what to do with it. The Amani Bulwark is just better :)
