Issues with breaking into harder Tier 6 content

Hey gang, first time poster long time reader.

I'm currently my guild's only prot warrior and more often than not find myself main tanking. The guild is 6/6 SSC, 3/4 TK, 4/5 MH and 3/9 BT. We started raiding in January and have covered a lot of content in a seemingly very fast time (at least for my realm anyway).

I'm decently geared (in my opinion) but we tried Archimonde for the first time 2 nights ago and he well and truly spanked me (10k hits), I read that he should be doing 7k-10k damage on a tank of appropriate gear level (can anyone confirm) but it seems to be causing a healers some distress.

I'm wondering if anyone can suggest any improvements I can make to my gear to boost my EH with the content that I have available? Or am I just being paranoid about my gear?. I've tried to look at each item to determine what would be the best for my gear but I may have underestimated previous items in other instances or overestimated any current gear.

Well Archi will always hit like a truck no matter your gear. You're healers just need to be better prepared. But some tips anywys:

T5 gloves are absolutely horrible. Get T6 when they drop next or 2.3 badge gloves.
The TK trash ring is indeed trash. The Karazhan ring is vastly better. Pretty much anything is.
Get the Heroic Mr. T trinket. It's the best trinket in the game.

We're going Hyjal tomorrow night and I have a fair bit of DKP on me so they should be mine.
Armorylite seems to be a bit outdated I'm now using Band of the Abyssal Lord - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32261) in that ring slot.
I've got the Commendation, should I be using it over Moroes' Lucky Pocketwatch or over Scarab of Displacement? (I'm assuming over the Pocketwatch)

I checked our WWS from last night testing out Archimonde with the new patch.
on my current gear he hits for 8200 average.
Your gear is more than enough to tank him with ease.
Use Commendation of Kael'thas - Item - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34473) over Pocket watch, the stamina is really awesome for archimonde.

Alright, I've switched over to using the Commendation. I'll be going to Hyjal tonight for the first 4 bosses, maybe Archimonde if we have time, so here's hoping for Tier 6 Gloves and a decent shot at the boss.
