View Full Version : OH Question

The World of Warcraft Armory (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Malfurion&n=Edimuse)

This is my current DPS setup. I usually use this as Prot and solo and such. Sometimes I go fury to screw around or fill in a DPS spot when needed.

After a ZA run I got Heartless - Items - World of Warcraft (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=33388) from Hex Lord. I've been wondering if the Fist of Fire is better because of the DPS and set bonus or if the sword is better because it is slower and has better weapon normalization damage.

Should I use one for Prot DPS and one for Fury? Or is one all around better than the other?

Which OH is best for DPSing as Prot/Fury?

I mean I could get them both if one was better for the other etc, but I'm just not sure which will do the best DPS.

I guess the real question is for Prot DPSing (solo and raid occasionally when not MTing).

To answer the original question of which is the better of the two, and assuming you're talking about Fist of Molten Fury, then I'd say that Molten Fury is subpar compared to Heartless (at least for prot dps; for fury spec, it would depend on what your crit rating was at I'd think. You're no longer in your DPS gear so I can't run the numbers).

As a warrior, your offhand's value relies less on its DPS and more on its passive stats and top-end damage. A fast offhand means weaker WWs, and it has less attack power. Compared to 5'ish DPS and 20agi vs 20haste, and the Heartless wins out unless you're hurting for crit.

And yes, Vanir's Left Fist of Brutality is better than either.
