I have concern about new meta.

Soloing elite that hits more than my block value.

Wearing no helmet = 499 blocked

w/ Tuskgaurd = 585 (with ZG enchant) *used as a control...math works.

w/ Tankatronic Goggles with new Meta gem = 537 (glyph of the defender)

537/499 x 100 = 107.615 (7.615% SB increase)

Why isn't it 10%?

I am spec'd shield mastery. So, 499/1.3 = 383 and some change. I add up my gear and I get that.

383 x 10% = 38.3

38.3 + 499 = 537.3.

Therefore it only only affects the base.

Conclusion: Be very careful deciding the worth of this gem.

hrm, interesting finding minirage, thank you, this greatly affects the usefulness of this gem indeed. for pure sbv stacking of course its still good, but this makes it less powerful. Not sure if its worth trading my stam gem for anymore.

I'm sure there's math somewhere showing at what point (stam, sbv, avoidance etc) one surpasses the other.

I'm starting to believe that the Metagem wasn't intended to surpass any other Meta, but be an equivalent option for tanks that want extra SBV.

It saddens me to hear it only affects the base, but I kinda got that feeling when I changed out my +18 Stam/+5% stun resist for Eternal and only went from 695 to 747 SBV.

Still a damn good option tho, even if I miss that extra ~250 health.

I've been considering going Glyph of the Gladiator / Eternal Earthstorm Diamond instead of my current +18 sta meta/ZG enchant combo.

It's a net-0 stamina change, but I'll be wasting the resil, losing 10 def rating (big whoop, really), and picking up a net increase of block.

Since I don't use Glyph of the Defender right now, it wouldn't be a loss of a substantial amount of avoidance from def, but I'd end up with more block value and the same amount of health.

That's really too bad that it only affects the base value and its not multiplicative with the talent :-/

But overall, for my gnome warrior who is all block value/mitigation/avoidance he will still be using this gem as it still gives a bigger increase to his valuable stats than the other. It is, though as you said, a less attractive gem though now as its not as ZOMG OP 10% BV!!!! >.<

I never even thought of that, wow. Still a good meta, but not as awesome as we all originally thought.

Avoidance of equivalent item cost to stamina is at least as good, 10% SBV is more useful than 5% stun resist...seems pretty clear which is better.
