Our first Gruul's run is next week and we are going joint with another guild.

I think this was touched on in another thread but didn't see too many numbers unless I just missed it -- but did see most recommend a lot of Kara gear. If you guys could help me out it would be great, but I'm hoping for some numbers to be able to give players something measureable to work toward.

So for each "role," what should we be shooting for? (Feel free to let me know if it is low/high!) Thanks!

Tanks: 14000 health/15000 armor?
Healers: 1700-1800 healing bonus?
Dps: 600-700? dps p/sec (we use WoWwebstats for this)

You measure Gruul's performance in the number of growths he go before you kill him. Its pretty much a gear check, make sure you have good DPS.

Don't bother with your gear, bother with learning the fight so your dps folks won't die to cave-ins and shatters.

I too would love to know some tanking minimums.....

Let's say if we're killing him by grow 12, what kind of stam/armor is a good rule of thumb for the tanks? Assume there's enough threat on Gruul to allow for DPS to unleash to kill him by grow 12.

I do remember reading the DPS should be in the neighborhood of 600s (wowwikki maybe?), but that was "average" dps. So I would lean closer to 700 given that the healers are applying no dps.

I think the most beneficial numbers to put here would be the raw damage that gruul puts out to begin with, and how much he gains/growth. That was we can all substitute in our own DR's into the formula and find out how many growths we can survive before we die in our current gear.

Here are some numbers I have from a recent Gruul fight, these numbers are the damage I received assuming I had zero Block Value, my armor would have been around 18,100 or 18,500 (I don't remember which pally I had in my group). These are normal hits, no crushing blows.

With 10% defensive stance and armor that puts growth 12 at about 23,000 raw damage.

Don't forget to have a second tank that is capable of taking the hateful strikes, which will also grow in strength as he grows. This tank needs to be second on the threat list. Hateful strikes can be avoided as well, just something to keep in mind.
